Ian Farm

Lab manager

Ian holds a B.A. in ecology from Dartmouth College, with a focus on agriculture and plant-soil feedback. Currently, Ian is developing an experimental system to autonomously sample gas from laboratory incubations of soils. This gas sampling system will be used to study mechanisms of soil carbon formation and destabilization through stable isotope tracing.

Maxwell Naah

M.S. student in Plant, Soil and Environmental Sciences

Maxwell earned his undergraduate degree in agricultural science from EARTH University in Costa Rica. In the fall of 2022, he completed an internship at the University of Kentucky, focusing on soil nutrient and carbon dynamics. After earning his degree in 2023, he completed a six-month internship at the Range Cattle Research and Education Center (RCREC) at the University of Florida, working on projects in hydrology that monitors ground water levels dynamics.

Currently, Maxwell's research centers on soil health, with a particular focus on carbon and nitrogen cycling. He is investigating the roles of mineral-associated organic matter (MAOM) and particulate organic matter (POM) as sources of nitrogen for crops, aiming to contribute to sustainable nutrient management practices.
